Thanks to pete for the updates
UPDATE, 4:30 p.m.: Wang starts tomorrow. More to come later. Hughes to bullpen.
UPDATE, 4:49 p.m.: Hughes is a temporary bullpen fix, Cashman said. He’ll be a starter long term.
UPDATE 5:26 PM: Espn Radio 1050 reported Wang will be on a 75 to 85 pitch count tommorow. Cashman is on the Michael Kay show now.
Cash summary",2 weeks they will decide what there gonna do with Hughes, as Bruney rehabs. for now he’ll be in the Pen. They gonna stretch him out. So he might go back to AAA. Hughes can be either long man or short man, depending on how Girardi uses him. But wants to put him as long man, not put too much pressure on Hughes. They can also go to a 6 man rotation. No thought ever of Joba to the pen. Always would be starting. It is irritating for Cashman, always hearing about Joba to the pen, as he is a Legit starter. Joba has outpitched AJ at this point. Marte Bullpen session on Friday. The team really communicates with each other, yesterday was another example of how real the chemistry is. Padilla had nasty stuff yesterday.
UPDATE, 6:06 p.m.: Teixeira has been scratched for a bruised right ankle, the result of last night’s takeout slide of Elvis Andrus. X-rays were negative and he is day-to-day.
UPDATE, 6:40 p.m.: Looks like they’re getting ready to pull the tarp. We could have baseball this evening.
UPDATE, 6:48 p.m.: First pitch at 7:15 p.m.
