There's now a report from Joel Sherman of the NY Post, saying that Yankee officials told him there's zero chance that they will get Roy Halladay for the same reasons they didn't get Santana. But, like in the offseason, they could lie about this and get the player they wanted like Tex and CC.

Derek Jeter ripps the fastball down the pipe and gives it the jeterian swing into right field for a leadoff single.
Johnny Damon tries to pull the outside change and grounds it to first, Morneau goes to 2nd for 1 and back to first for the double play. 2 outs.

Denard Span chopps one high off the plate, by the time it gets down Span gets an infield single.
Brendan Harris(wild pitch by Burnett advances Span to 2nd)(Burnett throws over to 2nd and Span gets picked off for the first out) takes the outside fastball and its skied to right field, Swisher under it for the 2nd out.
Joe Mauer swings at a low fastball and grounds it to Tex for the final out of the inning.

Top 2nd
Alex Rodriguez gets fooled by the outside change and pulls it to 3rd, Crede fires to 1st and gets Arod for the first out.
Hideki Matsui gets a high curveball and slaps it to the shortstop, who has to make a tough play from the grass and fires a high throw to Morneau, pulling him out of the bag. an infield single for Hideki.
Jorge Posada gets a fastball away and loops it into left and it goes over the shortstop for the bloop single. Matsui goes to 2nd on the play.
Robinson Cano swings at the first pitch, and lines the outside fastball past the diving Crede into left for a single. Matsui holds at 3rd, Posada to 2nd. Bases loaded, 1 out for Swisher.
Nick Swisher gets fooled by the change and rolls it to the right of the mound, like the swinging bunt. Fortunately, the pitcher only has one play, to tag Swisher. Runners advance as Matsui scores. Yankees lead 1-0.
Brett Gardner gets a high change and is lined over Punto into CF for the single. Posada and Cano both score. Yankees lead 3-0.
Derek Jeter(Brett Gardner steals 2nd base, #18 for Brett) pulls the outside change and grounds out to Crede to end the inning.
However, Yankees scored 3 runs this inning and take a 3-0 lead.

Bottom 2nd
Justin Morneau gets the fastball and skies it to left, Damon calls off Gardner for the catch, 1 down.
Michael Cuddyer pops the high fastball to Cano, who has some difficulty with it because of the domed roof, but is able to make the catch, 2 outs.
Jason Kubel chopps the high curve, again off the plate, no play for Arod. Another cheap hit for the Twins.
Joe Crede takes the fastball and hits it to right, Swisher is under it to end the inning.

Nick Punto gets another inside fastball and grounds it to Tex, who takes it to the bag for the 2nd out.
Denard Span gets a tailing fastball and drills it into center for a base hit.

Joe Mauer(Wild Pitch by Burnett, advances runners)(another wild pitch, Span scores, Harris to 3rd, Yankees have a 3-1 lead) hits a boomer on the fastball to left, off the wall for a double. Harris Scores. Yankees have a 3-2 lead.

However the Twins scored 2 to come back in it, only down 3-2.

Hideki Matsui pulls the outside fastball to deep center, but not deep enough as Gomez makes the catch for the 1st out.
Jorge Posada ripps an inside fastball and lines it right over Morneau's head, down the right field line for a double.
Robinson Cano gets hit by the inside fastball, runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out.
Nick Swisher takes the outside fastball and drills it deep to left, but caught at the track by Span, 2 down. Posada goes to 3rd on the play.
Brett Gardner golfs a fastball to center but Gomez is right under it for the final out of the inning.

Michael Cuddyer gets the outside Fastball and takes it to right, but Swisher is under it for the first out.
Jason Kubel swings at a fastball down the pipe, pops it to left, Damon loses sight of the ball a bit to the dome but is able to recover for the 2nd out.
Joe Crede takes the fastball away and lines it to right for a base hit.
