Game at 2:05 PM on YES.

I really don't like this lineup at all today, as the bottom 1/3 of the lineup can't really hit except for Pena. I don't know why Cash is still playing because he is an automatic out at the plate. Swisher is also becoming an auto out too. I'll try to find out more about why Jeter is DH'ing today.
Update 1:02 PM: Sad news for Bruney. He's going on the DL, another pitcher will probably be up tommorow.

  1. Cash is solid behind the dish, but not as solid as Molina. Molina was an OK auto-out because of his defense (and most notably, perhaps, his snap throws). As Cash does not possess this talent, and Cervelli has been stellar, it's pecuilar that he will not be playing in the day game after a day game, especially when Cervelli didn't go the distance yesterday afternoon. Furthermore, the AT&T fan poll had Cervelli as the Yanks' most successful rookie, winning 44% of the vote.

Swisher in RF is also interesting. It is possible that Jeter's DH has something to do with his shoulder acting up. Regardless, Gardner struggled mightily yesterday, and a day off could be more of a message sender. With Hughes on the mound, the Yankees will most likely need 4-5 runs today, and after an atrocious outing by Matsui yesterday, perhaps the late, and low lineup addition of Swisher is a good thing.

All in all, it's really a pick your poison with the bottom of the Yankees lineup. Regardless, Ramiro the Hero is always great to see in the field.
